Our Term Three Goals

We finished term two and we have seven more weeks to the end of this semester. We still have other mountains to climb.The important highlights of term two were:

- teachers weekly workshops and presentations
- the mind-map contest
- the football tournament
- creating over 400 flash cards for zero level students ( in the curriculum kitchen )
- teacher Eyaaz blog

Our goals for term three are:

- students presentation contest. (week 20)
- creating a self access center for students ( term three )
- program open day (week 18)

The visit to Madena

All the department heads of TVTC intensive English program visited Madena this week. The visit was part of our annual department heads meeting. We would like to thank Mr. Abdullah Almohana, the D.H of Madena site for his efforts and his generosity. We would also like to thank Mr. Mohammad ِAlghufaily the general director of TVTC intensive English program for his efforts and hard work.
The big questions that were addressed in the meeting and in workshop were:
1- How can we improve the program?
2- What we have learned so far? And what we still need to learn?
3- What are the big challenges facing our students in learning English? And how we can address them?
4- What are the big challenges facing the program? And how we can overcome them?

The objective of the workshop room is to:
1- Create a room where teachers can be creative and supply them with the tools needed.
2- Collaborate to create visual aids that can be used and maintained.
3- Share good ideas and document them.
4- Monitor the curriculum as it is being implemented.
5- Monitor and document the development of students’ portfolios.
6- Build a team of teachers who collaborate and share their knowledge and expertise to create meaningful lessons.
7- Use our collective knowledge and experience as teachers to grow and develop as educators.
8- Develop a paper- based and an electronic course portfolio.
9- Develop a paper- based and an electronic teacher portfolio.
10- Encourage experimental teaching and make teaching a journey of discovery.
11- Create and monitor classroom projects.
We like to call it “mission control” or the “curriculum kitchen,” not just a resource room.
