We had an excellent term full of learning opportunities for students . What was the classroom task or activity that your students liked most in Term 2? Why do you think they liked it?
They seemed to like the hands on project the most in researching information, making a draft in a mindmap format and then finalizing it on a larger presentation board. This seemed to engage everyone in class, even the ones that are not so apt to work by writing alone. Perhaps they liked it because they had something they could visually share with English writing, or even was a fun challenge to work with another student as with level zero students, or to show their creativity alone as with level 1 students.
Ray, I agree that even though students might be focused on the final product they want to create as a result of a project work, the ongoing process of learning is very enriching.
Students enjoyed their landmark and historic people / event presentation work as they learned a lot of new things about people and places all over the world.
It's difficult to narrow it down to one but I would have to say that they seemed to like the superlative adjectives activity. They got creative and even began including information about their classmates. Some of them came up with some funny sentences and non of the students seemed offended when their names were mentioned.
