A sample of students writing portfolio Mr. Eyaaz class Beginner Level Semester 1 - 2014

Reflecting on students portfolio  Semester 7
the table of content organized by week

This student's writing portfolio was scanned at the end of the program. Teacher Eyaaz shared with me five portfolios to look on how we can learn and reflect by taking a closer look at students work.

1- The first thing I noticed was there were no handouts in the portfolio, only students work.
2- It  was divided by weeks (from 1 to 21 ) and terms (1 to 3 ). I took the weeks and term binders off ,for faster scanning.
3- All the student's work was hand written, and printed after revision. And most of it had a dates and  titles and, well referred to in the table of content, and everything was organized by week and term.
4- the table of content helped me better navigate through the portfolio.
5- There were 4 CDs included in the portfolio of projects ( presentations plus videos )
6-  the student's final product - the student's autobiography - a booklet.
7- Every week the students provided one or two written assignments, again no handouts in the portfolio.
8- The portfolio was well organized and, it was very easy to follow and understand.
9- The students collected and selected every document well.
10- The teacher helped the students with the whole process. It seems most students in the class have kept their portfolios focused on their work and nothing else.
11- I was moved by the students autobiography chapter 4, when he talked about his grandfather.
12- there was a well detailed mind-map, that shows students process of learning.
