Second meeting with students representatives week 4 Day 22

We had our second meeting with students on Wednesday 25th of Sep
1:00 P.M

Attended:

1- Emad Alfatni A103
2- Saad Raddad Alkhamisi A204

4- Yaha Khaled A104
5- Ehab Darwish A203
6- Mohammad Alghamdi B103




We discussed:

1- The football tournament
we will start after Hajj week 8 to week 16 . One match per week after class two. Both classes partcipating in the match will go to the jim during the match. The teachers will decide who will be the referee in the match. Teachers can play with thier class if they wish to. We will buy all the necessary stuff for the game.
 Emad A103 is developing the schedule for the matches. Each class will give us a list of names in the team and the captain.


2- The technical support team:
We have now four students in the program who will help us with fixing problems with our computers. They will start next week.


3- Field trips:

Students suggested places to visit
Factories - Downtown jeddah - Coreniche - universties -Aramco -
 We will be asking students to arrange with teachers and with us how we can contact factories for visits.

Next week we will have our student meeting on Wednesday same time.

week one first teacher workshop 2013 Reflecting and learning - Interlink philosophy

Week 3 Day 19 . teacher workshop Room C102

Teamwork is power. Isolation is a trap. 

We started today's workshop with a 15 minute reflection. The three questions were:

1- What worked?

2- What surprised you?

3- What would you to do different?

        At the beginning we were all quiet, then Mr. Abdulrahman broke the silence.

Mr. Abdulrahamn talked about how his students are  engaged in mindmapping.Then Mr. Ray talked about students giving short  presentations and coming the next day to practice harder and improve.

 He was surprised his students wanted to work harder and learn new things they were not afraid or shy. Mr. Micha teaches reading and writing  Eta and Theta Level and he talked about his students use of google translate and his efforts to make them use dictionaries and not to copy and paste. 

Then, we discussed the student meeting and how this can enrich students experience and bring the pieces together.

After that teachers were divided into pairs and worked on their weekly planning and classroom projects.

to sum it up. It was a good solid three weeks of class. The teachers are excited. They engaged their students in discovering  and playing with the language, and it seems we have a group of good students who are wanting to learn
